Natural Treatment for Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a widespread condition, currently affecting approximately 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men. Untreated it can lead to porous and fragile bones, with a high chance of fractures at the wrist and hip joints. In the case of women, hormonal issues can be a factor due to a decrease in oestrogen levels as women age, but this is only part of the story.

I highly suspect when you hear the O word, your immediate word association is calcium. This generally is assumed to be the cure all. Yet Vivian Goldschmidt, author of “Save Our Bones” writes:

“The true cause of osteoporosis is an imbalance in the body’s chemistry.”

This implies we need to consider the whole body, and not separate it into treatable sections.

Quick Science Bit

1. Biochemistry is a chemical process that occurs in living organisms – us.
2. Bio absorption is where substances are absorbed by tissues.
3. Tissues are a group of cells.

This suggests that for any negative health situation, we need to be looking at the health of the cell. It is reasonable then to look at what our cells need in order to function optimally.

A Raw Diet as natural treatment for osteoporosis

Eating a raw diet will always initiate a healing process in the body, so it is a starting point for any condition.

My advice is: go gently. We have a tendency as excitable humans to fling ourselves with enthusiasm into any new idea. We want quick results that we can see working NOW.

Yet stop to think for just one moment on how long it took for your body to develop this ill health.

These ailments and conditions never appear overnight. They are the result of our cells not receiving the tools to allow them to perform their tasks to near perfection.

So to repair and renew ourselves we need to allow TIME!

Raw foods give us the minerals we need in their natural bio absorbable form.

One such example is SPINACH. It has high natural calcium, but it does not deliver this alone. It also provides other minerals: iron, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, copper, magnesium and zinc.

Compare this to the man made magic osteoporosis pill… containing, hmm… calcium.

The Fundamental Lesson from Nature

Minerals work in synergy, not in isolation.

You cannot take one mineral, use it on its own, and make your body well.

Renowned for her work on the benefits of magnesium, Dr. Caroline Dean states:

“…calcium and magnesium …work so closely together that the lack of one immediately diminishes the effectiveness of the other.”

She found that women with osteoporosis had significantly lower levels of magnesium. Magnesium is important as it draws calcium out of the blood and soft tissues back into the bone.

Natural unprocessed foods deliver a balance of vitamins and minerals in bio absorbable form.

Unresolved Case Report

A female relative of mine was diagnosed with Osteoporosis when she was in her 40’s. She was told it was because she only had one ovary (the other one had been removed by surgery many years earlier due to a cyst), which in turn affected her hormone production. However, some facts not considered were her extremely unhealthy diet, and that she had been taking prescribed medications for years.

I can’t say I helped her, as she was suspicious of alternative treatments, preferring to continue with the painkillers, calcium tablets and more.

A decade later she needed 2 walking sticks to get about. Now in her mid 60’s, her weight has drastically increased and she wears UK size 22 clothes. Her life is one of forced inactivity and pain, with no hope for reversal unless she changes her approach in treating this.

The pharmaceutical route certainly did not make her well. Standard drugs actually make your bones weaker, and of course come with numerous bad side effects.

The Role of Himalayan Salt “Sole”

(The term will be explained in just a moment)

Absorb this information. Then go absorb some Sole!

27% of our body’s salt is held in our bones.
Many alternative health doctors suggest that osteoporosis results when your body needs more salt and water – incidentally bones are 22% water. We have fluid bodies!

The benefits of Himalayan Salt have been much documented in reversing osteoporosis.

It is a pure salt without environmental poisons, such as heavy metal contaminants. It contains 84 minerals and trace elements, in a form that can be immediately absorbed (bio absorbable) and assimilated into our body.

(Do NOT under any circumstance confuse this with the white poison sold as table salt)

How To Make and Take Sole (pronounced “Solay”)

Sole is basically a mix of (good) salt and water. The term comes from the Latin word “Sol” which means, “sun”.

Use whatever size non-plastic container you wish.

  1. Fill ¼ cup with salt and then top up with drinking water.
  2. Stir with a wooden spoon or put a lid on and shake well.
  3. Leave overnight to stand.

The water absorbs the salt. If there is salt still sitting on the bottom the next day, then the job is done.
If all the salt has gone, add more and repeat the process.

  • Once this is complete, each morning take 1 teaspoonful of the sole in a glass of water.

This alone will remineralize your system, but used in tandem with a high raw diet your cells will eagerly respond to make a new you.

We are meant to live pain free. Remember this. Pain is an indication your body is not happy. Any ailment or condition is your body talking to you. Listen up!
